Straat Braai.
Get your tongs and firelighters ready because a “Straat Braai” is in the works.
The plan…….to close off the road between The Cannon Beach and The Community Hall for a fun street-style braai.
We will all prepare and share salads, fires will be lit, and the gathering will take place in the road for a fun and tasty evening.
The date has not been set in stone just yet, but the Social Club will be cooking up some adverts and spreading the word as soon as everything is confirmed.
The CRRA Committee is on board too, and they will be working together to make sure it is a great get together.

Cannon Rocks Cannons & Anchors:
A Piece of History in Safe Hands.
Did you know the iconic cannons at the western end of Alice Road, known as “Cannon Beach,” are not just for show. These historical beauties, numbered 656 and 657 on the National Register of Muzzle Loading Cannons, are under the protective wing of the National Heritage Resources Act (No. 25 of 1999). That means they are part of South Africa’s rich cultural heritage, and any restoration or maintenance must follow strict guidelines to keep them safe for future generations.
The same goes for the anchors in the area—they are also protected by SAHRA’s (South African Heritage Resources Agency) Maritime and Underwater Cultural Heritage statutes.
It is planned to give these historic gems the care they deserve. Preservation of these cannons is subject to assurance that all the necessary regulations are checked and approved. Keeping these pieces of Cannon Rocks’ history in the best shape possible is a priority, and we will make sure to do it right.
Stay tuned for updates as we work to preserve this fascinating piece of our heritage.
Street Lights:
Recently, the Municipality repaired the defective street lights that had been reported. A new survey of faulty street lights will be conducted in September 2024 and forwarded to the Ndlambe Municipality for repair or replacement.
